Hi, can someone confirm / deny that the fees on the the MTTs at the new casino are going to be £5 across the board? Hope it's just a typo as 50% fee on a £10 tournament will not be popular.

Awful.

How can a £10 tournament cost £5 for dealers fee and a £20 tournament cost £5

House takes 50% one and 25% for the other. Check various websites average house takes is 10%.

The £5 minimum charge includes a session fee that we take to enable us to provide dealers on tables, as well as help us develop the MVP point program, fortune loyalty scheme and other promotional incentives and guaranteed prizes.

Whilst it appears odd to have to pay another 50% of the buy in on £10 games as a charge, Its gives us more flexibility to develop our poker offer and enhance the service.

Im sure it may put off a few players, but in reality we have found it actually helps grow the venue and product offer. (as seen in all our other poker venues).

Hope this helps

Hi, is there anything included in the 50% hardcore-fee?

- Free Drinks?
- Free shuttlebus to the border?
- Masseuse?

Well, I think this will definitivly result in a huge impact of registered players. In the old casino there were only a few players (with standard rake)...what will happen now?

Over the long run the expected value is minus if you play 10+5 MTT's...

just my 2cents...

Cya at the SnGs and cash tables :)

Wouldnt surprise me if most boycott the 10+5 tournaments.

I find it greedy.

The promotions and loyalty rewards does not justify increasing house fee, that would make them pointless as the only person who pays for their own loyalty and promotion wouild be the players anyway on that basis.

Too add to that, surely if the £5 is all that is needed to provide a good service then it should be capped at £5 for all tournaments?

This would include the tournament that takes place on the 25th which is for £200 with a £20 fee. That should be reduced to £5 casino cant have it at £5 all times then increase to 10% when it means more for casino.

Any signs of the Fortune Loyalty Scheme/Promotional Incentinves or Guaranteed Tournaments (Only one being advertised at the moment)?

The 10+5 tournamets are bad enough but a 5+5 tournament of Tuesday, is that just a joke or just awfully planned. I mean for christ sake a sit and go costs 10+1 any player with any sense would suggest to players there anyone fancy a few sit and go tables, that was house only takes 10%.

Come on if your going to clog up the 3 days of the week with two 10+5s and a 5+5 then do as stated in above post, give us promotional incentives/guaranteed tournaments. Not a crappy 5+5 thats just poorly managed.

Think of the type of players the hosue is attracting with 5+5s, it will be people who have never played will go once and never come back. Isnt it better to offer something more competitive to keep the regulars coming back each night? I can assure you that nobody who plays regularly will be entering that tournament.

I actually must admit I kinda like the 10 rebuy, its full of FISH :) with big wallets and surely the more new players the better for us?

Talking to the Manager last night (the big one) (not like fat, just the main manager) - I must admit he changed my mind about a few things, but NOT the £5 + £5 - it sucks !!! -

However we never complained with the £2 Freeze out - in fact I remember being turned away at the other casino bcause all 90 seats had gone

Also I got some Fortune points last night - but now I just need someone to tell me what to do with them? - How many do i need for a new car?

Just my thoughts anyway

1. Fee's - The £5 Fee is here to stay I am afraid, it is needed to make the poker offer (tournaments) commerically viable, as well as put dealers on the table and invest in things like the poker managment system.

We are aware the norm used to be 10% of buy in - but this was just because UK legislation dictated this ( I can assure you it would have been alot higher if law allowed). It has now changed under the UK Gaming Act 2005, which has just been enforced - So if you look around UK card rooms you will find Fees up to 25% on low stake games or minimum £10 Fee (dusk till dawn, the Vic, some Grovensor casino's). Other European operators are quickly following suit! Once you get to higher level buy ins (£100 +) the FEE normal drops to 10%. Online companies dont count, as they can not adopt this strategy due to a number of reasons (mainly high competition).

2. Smoking - This is a difficult one, and we are currently reviewing wether to allow smoking or not. 90% of the worlds card rooms are NON SMOKING - but this is enforced by either EU legislation or local (like Nevada) state bi-laws. Here in Gibraltar the law is "smoker friendly" but as Gibraltar steps up its "no smoking" lobbying, and continues to get pressure form all over, it could be taken out of our hands.

Currently the supervisors have been told to "manage" the situation, but this is clearly not working, so a decision will be made over the coming weeks on no smoking or smoking!. We are (as you know) speaking to as many of our regular & new players as possible about smoking. Please hang fire on this one, we will get it resolved. Either way some of you wont be happy!!!!! -

3. Straddeling??? - Serious ? I think we should open a thread on straddeling for further discussion. But for now, the offical response is

In every poker room, in every location staddeling is a house rule - which means some casinos allow straddles and some don’t. The common rule is you dont change your rules on straddeling ! regardless of what a table wants.

Is straddeling good ? well these days the common answer among experienced players is "dunno - it depends on your game and the ability to get reads from players" HOWEVER the common answer amongst NEW or less experienced players is "NO - NO NOOO "

As we are aiming to encourage new cash players, and develop a "fun" atmosphere, we have sided on the NO STRADDELING route

And our final note, if you allow Straddeling you are effectively "loosening up" the table and encouraging players to get involved in higher stake action then what they may feel comfortable with based on the blinds of the table - AGAIN A BAD THING. After all, we dont want everyone loosing all there hard earned money in half an hour do we?

I hope this answers your questions ?

Thanks for replying to the threads, clears up a few questions and shows us that the house is taking note of what suggestions/issues players have.

But with regards tot he 5+5 on the schedule, please can this be scrapped and replaced by a 25 rebuy, which in the old casino always had the most players and we have had very little of them since new casino opened.

Cheers anyway.
